Purpose

The purpose of the position is to add value to the company by providing insights into processes and business results through data, together with the BI data team.

You provide the business with their information needs. You analyse, design, define and record the functional requirements and wishes.

To succeed in this role, you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users. An affinity with BI is a plus.

Responsibilities

As a BI functional analyst you provide the business with their information needs. You analyse, design, define, record and elaborate the functional requirements and wishes and provide documentation, conduct the meetings and provide presentations to share ideas and findings. You are able to structure the requirements process You ensure that the business wishes / requirements and the source data are translated into clear user stories for the developers. (frontend & backend), you know how to divide this into logical parts with the aim of quickly delivering added value to the business. You will help that the delivered data products meet the quality requirements, together with the team (BI team, Data governance). You will be the main contact for business stakeholders, building a bridge between business and the BI team. You will provide support to the users during user acceptance testing You ensure that you are constantly aware of evolutions and developments within your field and share this knowledge with the team. You use the best practices and guidelines.

Additional Education / Trainings

Thorough knowledge of PowerBI and / or other data visualization tools for analysis purposes Thorough knowledge of SQL scripting, BI & datamodeling methodologies Thorough knowledge of Excel, Visio, other office tools, Adonis (BPMN) Thorough knowledge of all kinds of statistical functions & visualizations (graphs, etc.)

Experience & Competencies

Thorough knowledge of the business processes and knows the systems that support the business processes. Relevant work experience with the independent analysis, description and support of business / information processes.
